I am excited to offer my services and professional experience to the clients of Canton Counseling. Through my career, I have had the opportunity to work in many areas that have prepared me well for this role. I spent time as a school social worker, an adjunct professor at Kennesaw State University, and a Clinical Supervisor at a Child Advocacy Center. My professional journey has offered me the opportunity to work with children and adults of all ages and backgrounds. This has broadened my cultural competence and perspective on the needs of a diverse world and how best to support them. I have worked with families with experiences living in extreme poverty and deprivation to those who have enjoyed a more prosperous life. Having these professional experiences reinforces one of life’s unequivocal truths; family and individual crises spare no one.
My goal is to work collaboratively with children and families, strengthening both during the therapeutic process. I bring a sense of humor and a firm sense of accountability for one’s actions. In addition to having taught various therapeutic interventions, I have vast training and experience in supervision and mentoring of therapists. Additionally, I am nationally certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I bring all of this to my practice; however, above everything else, I bring the hope that I can make a difference in people’s lives.
